Following a conversation I had with some moms this morning about raising girls to be strong and full of "swagger," I thought about this image I borrowed from the Illfillamuseum, Welcome, O Life blog. This photo is from a bathroom in an elementary school in New Orleans. I wish I had more info on where this is located, but wanted to share it anyway. If anyone has any further info please share.

A great way to start or end the kids' day with a geography or elements lesson. I have the world map for my kids' bathroom and will order the elements this weekend. They have been really curious about the "chemicals" that lurk in our food and in the air.

Gearing up for the season

First day of school - YAY!! Even though the kids being in school gives me time to concentrate on my business and myself, it brings runny noses, sniffles, colds, and mucus everywhere!! With that in mind, I thought I would share a few things I keep in my arsenal for this very reason. I have been using these products for about a week now and I usually do two weeks on and two weeks off. They work well when I remember to use them:)

I am also a madwoman about washing the hands and face. Plenty of water and lots of rest round out the cure. I don't mess around with the 8:30 bed time - playtime is over.

Back to School

Getting my three kids ready for school requires a great deal of preparation and nothing freaks me out more than preparing lunches.  Now, I grew up eating school lunch and survived just fine, but my two daughters are allergic to just about everything and I have to monitor what they eat. While perusing the William-Sonoma blog, The Blender,  I found this wonderful bento box for lunches.  The box is sold at PotteryBarn Kids.  I think this just might change my life...well at least my mornings anyway.
