These photos make my heart smile. They are taken from an interactive exhibit by Yayoi Kusama entitled The Obliteration Room showing at the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art in Australia. Kusama, who is known for using polka dots throughout her work, has been a celebrated artist for over 60 years. Can you imagine taking part in this? My kids would be in heaven!! If it makes its way to the New York area you can bet we will be there.

She Better Mind Her Business - Kim Ima
Kim Ima
Sugar
Dessert Nachos
I looove second act stories so when I saw Kim Ima and The Treats Truck on The Nate Berkus Show I had to share. Kim is a former theater artist turned baking entrepreneur offering goodies from her truck, aptly named Sugar. Treats are made daily in Red Hook, Brooklyn and delivered throughout NYC and the surrounding boroughs. You can even sign up to get alerts as to when and where the truck will arrive. I can just see myself running behind Sugar like a mad woman in the street. Just what a sugar addict needs!

Rainy Days and Mondays
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down, however, I have found a ray of sunshine in these two photos. They were taken from Marie Claire's New York Fashion Week Spring 2012 street style files. The explosion of color is inspiring and makes me look forward to a very vintage spring.

Gucci Gold
While drooling over the Gucci site today, I began to experience heart palpitations. I love the 1920's flapper/art deco vibe. These dresses are just divine.

Comfort and Joy
Great start to the new year! I had one of the best meals today at Pillow Cafe and Lounge on Myrtle Ave in Brooklyn. I am talking about comfort food to the nth degree. I left that place on a high that only a spicy homestyle turkey chili and a tomato and brie cheese panini press could bring. Wash that down with the decadence of rich hot chocolate on a chilly winter morning and you might float all day. No new year calorie counting resolution for me! I have decided to enjoy food the way a foodie should. Food makes me happy and really good food that comforts me during the ugly winter temperatures elates me like none other. The moral to my story? If you have not been to Pillow Cafe, go pay them a visit and treat yourself to some mmm mmm good.

Happy New Year and thanks for a great 2011!
I want to wish everyone a happy new year and thank you for the love and support you gave TracyChambers Vintage this past year. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, part of the proceeds from your purchases would support the women and children at the Rose F. Kennedy Family Center in Bedford Stuyvesant. Thanks to you I was able to deliver gift bags this holiday season and have plans to support the center in more ways this year which include mentoring and workshops. Looking forward to a bigger and better 2012.
